This is Ruby, a natural, flexible, object-oriented programming language created by the Japanese Yukihiro 'Matz' Matsumoto in 1993.

Its author took parts of his favorite languages (Perl, Smalltalk, Eiffel, Ada, and Lisp) and used them to create something new.
